About Reach for the Stars
U.S. Figure Skating’s Reach for the Stars is a three-day seminar managed by the Athlete Development Committee and offered during the U.S. Junior Figure Skating Championships. The seminar is open to all juvenile and intermediate competitors at one of the 2008 Regional Championships. It is also open to their parents and coaches. Skaters who qualify to compete at the U.S. Junior Championships can participate in the seminar at a discounted rate.
This season marks the tenth year Reach for the Stars will be offered. Once again, an outstanding faculty has been lined up to present. Topics will include the importance of athleticism for peak performance, sports psychology, nutrition and the international judging system.
A series of lectures will be held at different times on Thursday, Nov. 29, Friday, Nov. 30 and Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007. Each session will be offered at least three times, allowing people to attend on the days and times that are most convenient. Topics can even be attended more than once.
