Method of Seeding
for 2008 Junior Nationals
Singles Event
1. The top four placements for singles events (Juvenile and Intermediate) will be seeded into groups using the Zigzag method.
2. Each region will be assigned a number randomly.
3. The first place skater from the first region would be placed into group A. The first place skater in the second region would be placed into group B, and so forth until all the first place skaters have been seeded. The same method would be used for second place starting with the next group continuing from the first place seeding. Ties would be broken by random draw to break the tie. The Zigzag method would be starting with group A, then B, then C (if applicable), then C again, the B, then A, then A again and so forth.
4. All skaters placing 5th and lower (6th, 7th, and so on) would be randomly drawn. The top four skaters qualified to JN and those placing 5th or lower qualified through the group percentage program.
Dance and Pair Events
1. Dance couples and pair teams will be seeded into groups using the Zigzag method according to their regional placement result at Sectional Competitions. Teams had the option to compete.
2. Each region will be assigned a number randomly.
3. The first place team from the first region would be placed into group A. The first place team in the second region would be placed in group B, and so forth until all the first place teams have been seeded. The same method would be used for second place starting with the next group continuing from the first place seeding. Ties would be broken by random draw to break the tie. The Zigzag method would be starting with group A, then B, then B again, then A, then A again and so forth.
