Ice monitors
- Arrive 10-15 minutes before your shift begins and check in at the volunteer desk.
- If you are volunteering during the morning hours, go towards the rink entrance points and check in with Robyn Axtell. If you are there during the afternoons / evenings check in with Monica Hein.
- Dress to be warm.
- As each group of skaters comes to get on the ice, check off their names to ensure everyone is present. The schedule will be available rinkside.
- Follow the announcer's lead in permitting skaters on and off the ice.
- Once the competition begins, you may let a skater(s) onto the ice once the previous skater is off the ice. This permits for a short warm-up for the skater.
- Do not engage in conversations with skaters or coaches unless they initiate it. Remember everyone is trying to stay focused before taking the ice.
